Spartans Prepare Religious Group's Grounds

Spartans Prepare Religious Group's Grounds

Religious Groups GroundsIn an after school program, some Campus Ministry Spartans headed north to Chester, where they did clean up work for the Hermits of Bethlehem. This group, a foundation of Catholic hermits, dedicate their lives to prayer, penance, silence and solitude. In their serene, open, and quiet space used as prayer paths, the hermits and retreatants spiritually reflect on God's presence in their lives. The Spartans helped with the winter cleanup to make it safe and pristine. As is the Spartan way, the students accomplished more than what their host, Father Albert, had expected. Father then gratefully took them to an older disaster site, bearing remnants of 200 trees lost during Superstorm Sandy. Working hard, these Spartans helped to prepare the grounds for the spring, where nature serves as the perfect backdrop for prayer-filled contemplation. This project was a beautiful blend of the school's two pillars: Faith and Service.

God Bless Our Spartans.
