Fifth Annual Marian Scholar Symposium

Marian Scholar SymposiumNow in its fifth year, the Marian Scholars Program at IHS aims to foster a passion for intellectual pursuits and teach how to give an effective and confident presentation. The students at all levels of the program worked for almost a full year on their various research topics, ranging from the future of football to the importance of learning about post-partum depression to the effects of ignoring racial biases to redesigning the architecture of American prisons. Working with mentors on various projects depending on grade level, our Freshmen created Prezis on a topic of their choice, the Sophomores created Professional Poster Boards, modeled after what might be seen at a professional research conference, and our Juniors and Seniors take part in College Board's AP Capstone program, a two year course including AP Seminar in year one and AP Research in year two.
