How do I begin the admissions process for Immaculata?

To begin the admissions process, please sign-up for our mailing list, and visit our Admissions Process webpage, which will guide you through all of the application steps, including completing the application for admission, requesting your academic records, and, if you are applying for a spot in our incoming freshman class, registering for the HSPT (the High School Placement Test). Additional information for transfer and international students is also available.

Am I guaranteed acceptance into Immaculata by simply applying?

While we strive to meet the needs of all families that desire a Catholic education for their children, students must first be accepted to Immaculata before you are able to register as a student.

Is there a deadline to apply to Immaculata High School?

Applications are accepted year-round. However, maximum consideration for merit-based academic scholarships and admission into our specialized academic programs such as Marian Scholars will be given to students who apply and take the HSPT during November of 8th grade.

Do you need to be Catholic to attend Immaculata High School?

Immaculata High School is authentically Catholic and open to students of all faiths. The Theology curriculum is based on Roman Catholic doctrine and beliefs. All students are required to take four years of Theology classes, be attentive during school-wide prayer, and attend our school liturgies.

What programs do you offer for high-achieving students?

We offer a competitive, rigorous academic program that includes 15 AP classes, and are the only area school to provide our top students with the opportunity to participate in College Board’s AP Capstone™ program. High-achieving students may also be invited to apply for admission into our prestigious Marian Scholars program. Please review our Academic Profile.

Does Immaculata accommodate students who are classified with learning disabilities and other academic challenges?

Yes, in many cases! Immaculata’s Unitas Prosperitas (U.P.) program is specifically designed to help students who are classified with learning disabilities and other academic challenges to succeed in our rigorous academic environment. During your child’s time at Immaculata, you will work directly with our Coordinator of Special Services, Mrs. Christine Kretz, who can be reached via email at [email protected].

I’m not sure that I can afford to send my child to Immaculata. Do you offer financial assistance and scholarship opportunities, even if my child is not Catholic?

Yes! The Diocese of Metuchen offers financial assistance to Catholic families. Non-Catholic families can also receive financial assistance directly from Immaculata. Scholarship opportunities also exist, including The Michael Nunes Scholarship Award and our Unitas Caritas scholarships. For more information, please visit our Tuition and Financial Assistance page. Driving my child to Immaculata every day will be difficult. Are there any other transportation options?

Yes, many towns do provide busing to Immaculata. Immaculata is also conveniently reached by several NJ Transit public bus routes and is only one mile away from Somerville Train Station. How is theology instruction delivered at Immaculata?

At Immaculata, we are proud of our Catholic Identity. We follow a theology curriculum that is in full accord with Catholic teaching and deliver it in a way that enhances our students’ spiritual lives. My child is worried about making friends at Immaculata. What do you do to help students acclimate socially?

At Immaculata, one of our four pillars is Friendship, and we stand by our mission to develop the whole person, which includes offering our students opportunities to get involved and grow socially. In addition to our Music, Athletics, and Campus Ministry programs, we pride ourselves on our ‘Lata Living new student welcoming program, dances including Prom, class retreats, our annual Spartan Spirit activities, and numerous clubs and activities. There’s something for everyone at Immaculata!

My child is interested in the performing arts. How can I find out more about Immaculata’s offerings in music and drama?

Immaculata is proud to offer award-winning programs in the fine and performing arts, including our 12-time national- and state- championship-winning marching band which has been regarded as one of the finest scholastic marching ensembles on the east coast. My child is interested in athletic activities. How can I find out more about Immaculata’s athletic offerings?

My child is interested in community service and retreat opportunities. How can I find out more about Immaculata’s Campus Ministry program?

Immaculata’s Campus Ministry program provides a multitude of service opportunities annually and has been recognized twice on a national level.
