Now an orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, Dr. Kelms Amoo-Achampong was a standout varsity football and basketball player and three-time letter-winner during his time at Immaculata High School. He received the Courier News first-team all-area and The Star Ledger first-team all-county honors his junior and senior years. His senior year, he was named News 12 New Jersey’s Player of the Week, Old Spice Red Zone’s Player of the Year, and The Star Ledger's Offensive County Player of the Year. Amoo-Achampong went on to play four years of Division 1 football at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in health and societies. He later went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New York City.
