Thomas Lederman

Last evening, Bishop James Checchio virtually presented the annual Youth Ministry Awards. Senior, Thomas (Tommy) Lederman, was honored with the St. Timothy award which recognizes his outstanding faith and service to the community, school and/or parish. Visit here for the presentation.

Tommy has been involved in the St. Francis Cathedral Youth Groups and service projects for seven years. He has worked at food banks, organized outerwear for the Coat Drives, picked fruit for homeless shelters, and moved furniture and landscaped for the elderly. He has been an Altar Server and part of the parish Choir for many years and coaches track for middle school. He helped St. Francis Cathedral School get ready to reopen after a long absence (caused by the Pandemic) by carrying supplies, textbooks, chairs, and other equipment. As part of the Campus Ministry program at Immaculata, he has spent many hours at nursing homes where he conducted Bingo Nights, taught Seniors how to use cell phones, and brought Christmas cheer to residents through caroling. He has stepped up during the pandemic by grocery shopping for Seniors and by acting as a virtual Open House Master of Ceremonies. On a spiritual level, Thomas attended the Steubenville Retreat which he felt helped him to affirm his faith. He said the speakers made Jesus and His life more relatable to his own. Because of his desire to serve, his career goal is to be a physical therapist. Thomas truly represents service to family, school, community, and parish.

Congratulations Tommy! Spartan Proud!
