Cardaneo and Seifert

The Music department is excited to announce that Immaculata has hired Mrs. Donna Cardaneo and Mr. Nicholas Seifert as our new Band Director and Assistant Band Director respectively. Mrs. Cardaneo obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from The College of New Jersey and is returning to the role of Immaculata Band Director, a role she previously held from 1997–2005. Mrs.Cardaneo maintains an active role as conductor, educator and performer throughout the state. She has worked with numerous concert and marching bands as a woodwind and marching technician and has guest conducted the CJMEA Region Symphonic Band in 2002 and the Augustana College Honor Band, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mrs. Cardaneo has been a member of the NJ All State Procedures Committee from 2002–2018. In 2016, the New Jersey Music Educators Association awarded Mrs. Cardaneo the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award. In addition to conducting, she also plays bass clarinet and is the Librarian for the Eastern Wind Symphony and has performed with artists such as Joe Alessi, Phil Smith, Alan Baer, and Stanley Drucker. As an educator, Mrs. Cardaneo has worked as a band director for the past 33 years in New Jersey at Notre Dame High School, Immaculata High School, and South Brunswick High School.

Mr. Seifert, a 2020 graduate of Notre Dame University who double majored in music and biology, is a saxophone player with a strong music background. Mr. Seifert was a leader in the Notre Dame Marching Band, which performed in front of 10,000+ people every weekend. As a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Mr. Seifert also has a unique knowledge and respect of both Immaculata High School, as well as the community that we all support. He has participated in the same parades and competitions that we compete in, and was part of a program that we respect greatly.

We are very proud to welcome Mrs. Cardaneo (again!) and Mr. Seifert to our Immaculata Family, and know that they will continue to build upon our “Tradition of Excellence.”
