Kassay Joins Music DepartmentImmaculata High School announces that Eric Kassay ’13 will join the music department faculty, serving as one of the school's band directors. Eric is uniquely suited to help maintain the school’s nationally recognized Marching Band Program. He, along with Sonia Sparkes '06, replaces Ed Webber '99, who held that position for years and was recently promoted to Dean of Students.

A graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, he studied under the principal brass musicians of the New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Opera, as well as the musicians of Broadway. Kassay also participated in the Rutgers Marching Band, the Marching Scarlet Knights, and marched for the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps in the Drum Corps’ International Competitive Circuit. During his college career, Kassay had the thrill of performing on the Tonight Show, starring Jimmy Fallon, and recording for the sound track of Starlink: Battle for Atlas, published by Ubisoft.

Coming back to Immaculata and its highly touted Marching Band is very gratifying to Kassay. “I'm super excited to start this year, with both the marching and concert bands, and I can't wait to bring my music experiences back to the program that started it all. This year’s program, The City That Never Sleeps is innovative, musically challenging, and dynamic. With the support of our long-time band staff, students, and parents, we are expecting a magnificent show.”
