Senior SCHOLARSHIP Opportunities

Italian American Club at Canal Walk Scholarship

Italian American Club at Canal Walk is offering a scholarship to a high school senior from Immaculata who is of Italian descent (Father's or Mother's side of the family). The following criteria will be used for this scholarship:

  • A current high school transcript
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (One letter must be from a teacher; the other from a person who played a supervisory role in a current or past activity in which the applicant participated; e.g. employer, coach, cleric)
  • List of all extracurricular activities, including school activities, community service activities and work experience, listing years of participation and weekly work hours, if applicable.
  • Acceptance to a 2 or 4 year accredited college
  • Completion of the following essay topic: Explain how the Pandemic has affected your life.

The essay must be a minimum of one (1) and a maximum of two (2) single-spaced typed pages.

A cover/sign-off sheet along with instructions can be found on the following link. All applications must be completed and submitted to the Office of School Counseling on or before March 29, 2021 to meet the April 1, 2021 deadline.


The Janet Logan Daily Foundation Scholarship

The Janet Logan Daily Foundation is accepting applications for its annual $10,000 scholarship. The Janet Logan Daily Foundation grants an annual award to one graduating high school senior from New Jersey who enrolls full-time in an accredited university or college within the United States. This scholarship rewards students from varying academic backgrounds who have routinely demonstrated maturity and integrity within and beyond the classroom. The Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship

The Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Committee has been announced by the New Jersey League of Municipalities and local mayors to offer three (3) $1,000 scholarships to the winning essay entries. Juniors and Seniors who reside in Somerville must return applications and essays to Mayor Sullivan’s Office, 25 West End Avenue, no later than April 2, 2021. Students who reside in other towns can send their applications to their hometown Mayor’s Office. Please find information, instructions, and an application here.


The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County Scholarships

The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County has announced several scholarships available to graduating seniors who reside in Hunterdon County and are of Italian American heritage. All Scholarships will be awarded based on merit, academic excellence, vocational/technical skills, school and community activities, and community service: 

The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County: (2) $1,000 Scholarships

Salvatore A. DeSapio: $1,000 Scholarship

Antonio and Alesandria DeSapio: $1,000 Scholarship 

The Club will also award the following scholarships which require family financial information: 

Thomas and Lena LaMarca: $2,000 Scholarship (requires financial information)

Paterniti Family: (2) $2,500 Scholarships (require financial information)

Students must request necessary items from counselors by April 13, 2021, to meet the April 15, 2021 deadline. Please see your counselor or Mrs. Peltack if you have any questions.


The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater has announced their $1,500 scholarship to be awarded to one (1) Immaculata High School senior planning to attend college next year. Selection is based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, service to the community, and financial needs. A 500-word essay, a copy of the student’s transcript, and no more than two letters of recommendation are required. All applications must be returned to the School Counseling Office by Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

The Rotary Club of Somerville and Bridgewater von Stade Music Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) senior from participating high schools (Immaculata HS, Somerville HS, Bridgewater-Raritan HS, Vo-Tech HS) who plans on majoring in music next year. The time and place of the auditions will be announced. Interested seniors are encouraged to contact the Immaculata Music Director or Lilian Tarantino at 908-725-0737 for more information and a copy of the application.


The Somerset County School Nurses Association 2021 Scholarship

The Somerset County School Nurses Association 2021 Scholarship has been announced and is open to high school seniors who have been accepted to and plan to attend a college or university that offers an undergraduate nursing program. Applicants must reside in Somerset County or attend a Somerset County High School and have achieved a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Applications can be obtained here or in the School Counseling Office and must be emailed to the Somerset County School Nurses Association before April 17, 2021.


Dr. Robert L. Sanford, of Sanford Orthodontics Scholarship

Dr. Robert L. Sanford, of Sanford Orthodontics in Bridgewater, NJ is once again offering a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior who is currently a patient or has been a patient of his in the past and is applying for college. Please find the criteria, cover sheet and instructions on this link. Information may also be found on Dr. Sanford’s website: www.smileofyourlife.com. The Warren Township Lions Club Scholarships

The Warren Township Lions Club is offering multiple $2,000 college scholarships to high school seniors who reside in Warren and Long Hill and will be enrolled in a two-year or four-year college in the Fall of 2021. A one-page 250-400 word essay on the topic “Indicate a person who has had a significant influence on you and describe that influence” must be written. A high school transcript and a FAFSA statement confirming an Expected Family Contribution of $50,000 or less must be provided as well. The deadline to submit applications is Friday, April 30, 2021. The New Jersey Electronic Life Safety Association Scholarship

The New Jersey Electronic Life Safety Association (NJELSA) is pleased to announce the availability of college scholarship awards to sons and daughters of active-duty police and fire personnel. The scholarship awards, in the amounts of $2,000 for first prize and $1,500 for second prize, are available to qualified high school seniors to help pay for an advanced education. Awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular participation and the essay. In addition to completing the application and submitting the appropriate documentation, each student must write an essay explaining “What it means to me to have my parent or guardian involved in securing our community”. The Marine Corps League Detachment #1284

The Marine Corps League Detachment #1284 has announced their Annual scholarship which will disburse up to three (3) $500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Applicants must be residents of Somerset County and have a parent, grandparent, guardian, or sibling who has served, or is currently serving, in any branch of the United States Military. An application and a 500-word essay are required. All applications must be mailed through the Post Office by May 1, 2021.
